Stroud Liberal DemocratsLeader of Eastbourne Council, David Tutt, has won a prestigious award for transforming the town.
The award is to recognise the contribution local leaders make in advancing the liberal cause and was introduced by the Liberal Democrats' party grouping, ALDE in the Committee of the Regions.
David was nominated by Eastbourne's Euro-MP, Catherine Bearder, for his enormous contribution to the local community by attracting investment into the town, including £100 million from Legal & General.
When David took over the leadership of the council it was recognised by the National Audit Office as being in a state of serious financial instability, now a third of Councils across England have visited Eastbourne to see the improvement programme in action.
Catherine Bearder has said she is "thrilled by David's hard work in Eastbourne has been recognised in this award.... David is now a winner, just as he's made Eastbourne a winner."
Congratulations David and the local Lib Dem team!
