Stroud Liberal DemocratsThe Liberal Democrats have called for the supermarket watchdog - know as the Groceries Adjudicator - to do more to protect dairy farmers faced with low milk prices.
Currently 4 pints of milk costs around 89p, more than a bottle of water, and that clearly shows the system isn't working in the best interest of dairy farmers.

Originally a Liberal Democrat idea the Adjudicator was set up to make sure that large supermarkets treat farmers fairly. However it's remit doesn't currently cover the majority of dairy farmers.
This needs to change, which is why the Lib Dems are calling for an extended scope for the Groceries Adjudicator to improve the relationship between farmer and supermarket.
